Information for BCLA’s Sections, Committees, and Interest Groups (SCIGs)
Meeting Room Requests
If your BCLA SCIG group is interested in holding a meeting during the 2013 BC Library Conference, we do have some space on site at the Sheraton available at no charge (food and beverage services are not included). The dates and times are as follows:
Friday, May 10th
5:15 – 9:15 pm
There are 3 meeting rooms available. There are some opposing events happening on Friday evening that are included in delegates’ registration (seating is limited). A Hot Topics session is 5:15 – 6:30 pm and a Reception is from 6:30 – 8:00 pm (with complimentary appetizers).
Saturday, May 11th
12:15 – 1:30 pm or
4:30 – 6:30 pm
There are 6 meeting rooms available during each of these times. There are some opposing events happening on Saturday afternoon with the Awards Luncheon happening from 12:15 – 2:00 pm. The conference will officially end at 4:30 pm on Saturday but we can hold the meeting rooms until 6:30 pm if you wish to hold your meeting after the conference.
Thursday, May 9th or Sunday, May 12th
We do not have meeting rooms available on these days as part of our Conference contract.
Alternatively, the Richmond Public Library Brighouse Branch has meeting rooms available at no charge. The Program Room has a capacity of 45 theatre style, and 30 with tables/chairs; the Community Room has a capacity of 50 theatre style and 40 with tables/chairs. And the Seminar Room has a capacity of 6. Availability may be limited on certain days/times

Table Top Display at the Trade Show
We invite the BCLA Sections, Committees and Interest Groups to participate in the Trade Show at the BC Library Conference. We have reserved the use of the Table Top Displays, located just outside the Trade Show Hall in the foyer, for BCLA SCIGs at no charge.

These Table Top Displays are first come, first served and there are a limited number available

Each Table Top Display includes 1, 6 ft skirted table and 1 chair

If possible, the Table Top Display must be staffed for the duration of the Exhibit Hall Hours. The table MUST be staffed during all breaks.

All staff must be registered conference delegates

Thursday, May 9: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Friday, May 10: 10:15 am – 5:15 pm
