Presidents’ Welcome & Trade Show Opening Reception

Immediately following the keynote address, all delegates are invited to celebrate the opening of the BCLC 2012 Trade Show at the Presidents’ Reception. This is a chance to say hello to the representatives of companies and organizations who do business with, and support, libraries. The Welcome Reception is hosted by the current Presidents' of the sponsoring associations (Christopher Kevlahan, BCLA, Ivan Idzan, BCLTA, and Linda Howard, HLABC) and as many former presidents as can attend! Meet up with colleagues and friends at the first social event of this year’s Licence to Read conference.
Hors d'oeuvres provided. No-host bar.

NEW, as of April 20: Tickets for this reception are now available for purchase on the Social Events registration form. Cost is $25 per person, and this does not include a ticket to the Bakan keynote (which is sold out). If you are attending on a one-day registration, you must purchase a ticket to this Reception if you wish to attend.
If you have already paid for a FULL registration without selecting the Bakan keynote, please e-mail office@bcla.bc.ca if you wish to be added to this Reception (at no charge). The keynote before this event is sold out.

BCLA/BCLTA Awards Recognition Luncheon

Help us commemorate the 2011-2012 award winners from BCLA and BCLTA who will be recognized and honoured at this lunch. Event limited to 175 attendees. You do not need to be registered for the conference to purchase a ticket for this event but, please purchase your ticket by April 30th.
Ticket price includes the “Taste of Italy” Buffet. Smell the aroma of freshly baked focaccia bread as you partake in this feast of Italian cuisine. Your entrées will include cheese and spinach tortellini served with a julienne of vegetables in a tomato and basil sauce, farfalle pasta with herb roasted chicken in a cream sauce and traditional tasty Caesar and tomato cucumber salads. For your sweet tooth, dive into the classic Italian dessert, tiramisu. Lunch is served with Starbucks coffee and Tazo tea.
