Volunteering / Convening

Call for Convenors

The 2012 BC Library Conference Convenors will be responsible for a room and convene all sessions in this room for the day with the expectation that they remain present through each session, and that they submit a summary of each session to the BCLA Browser. Convenors will receive a one day complimentary conference registration as compensation.  We only have a limited number of spaces, so registration has now closed.

If you applied before March 30th and we are not able to use you as a convenor or volunteer, we will provide you with early-bird pricing for conference registration.

If you have questions about volunteering as a convenor, please contact Aditi Gupta at: bclcconvenors@bcla.bc.ca  (please add this address to your address book so messages aren't misidentified as spam).

Call for Volunteers

Volunteers will be needed to make the 2012 BC Library Conference a success.

Don’t miss the chance to meet new people, network with the library community, catch-up with old friends, and give back to your association!

Volunteers will receive "time-for-time" credit for their work. If you apply before March 30th and we are not able to use you as a volunteer, we will provide you with early-bird pricing for conference registration.
Registration for volunteers has now closed.

If you have any questions about volunteering, please contact Susan Redmond at:  bclcvolunteers@bcla.bc.ca (please add this address to your address book so messages aren't misidentified as spam).

Call for Informal Social Events Volunteers

The volunteers will be assisting in:

· A crafty librarians knitting and crochet group
· A trip to Aberdeen Mall to visit Daiso
· A book talk to Cory Doctorow's books "Context" and "The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"

These events will take place on Friday, May 11th throughout the day.  We need energetic volunteers who are willing to socialize with delegates.  We require volunteers who can knit/crochet, who are able to navigate the Sky Train system, and who are willing to read and discuss two books.  Note - You will be working in partnership with the Social Events Coordinators at all events.

Volunteers will receive "time-for-time" credit for their work. If you apply before March 30th and we are not able to use you as a volunteer, we will provide you with early-bird pricing for conference registration.
Registration for volunteers has now closed.
